IMPORTING IMAGES AND OTHER FILE TYPES

To import an image you need to open its destination directory in Teamsite first. Within the htdocs directory, you will find a folder called images with two subfolders, discs and user. The discs folder contains navigation elements that are used on the site. Images used throughout the BEES website are stored under the Users Folder in either
  • School (images used on School pages),
  • Staff (images directly related to individual staff pages)
  • Student (images directly related to individual student pages).
Note: All Images and other files are imported into the htdocs directory NOT the templatedata directory.

Note: The Naming Convention for all images is your surname followed by a numeric or text abbreviation. Note that no spaces are allowed in filenames. To maintain uniformity across the website, all images should be no more than 172 pixels wide.

4. Locate your image file on your local machine and select 'Add'. Repeat if you would like to import multiple images. When you are satisfied with your image list, select Import.

5. The Launch Pad application will upload your local images to the Teamsite server. They should appear within your images folder when the import process has finished.
Note: The icon next to the image will denote that it is locked by you and is different to staging.

IMPORTING AND SUBMITTING OTHER FILE TYPES

The process for importing pdf files (or any other file) is identical to importing images except that these are stored in your own folder under the htdocs directory. To import a File you need to open its destination directory in Teamsite first. Once again, ensure there are no spaces in the filenames.
  • Navigate to htdocs >> school >> staff >> your folder
  • Click on File and select 'Import' from the drop down list.
  • Locate the files on your own local machine and import
  • The files will be imported into your directory.
  • Tick the check box next to the imported files and click 'Submit'
  • Check 'Content Approval' and start the approval workflow
  • Once approved they will automatically be sent to staging
