LOGIN AND THE TEAMSITE USER INTERFACE

Login to myCMS
You will need your UniPass and UniPin and to log on as 'Author'. You have to be on the university network to log in to myCMS so it is not possible to update your pages from home. If you are unable to login into myCMS, send an email to r.flossmanunsw.edu.au with your name and Unipass No (s1234567). Your Unipass has to be manually entered into the myCMS system first and is not automatically retrieved from the UNSW LDAP server.

Note: When first accessing myCMS you should use Internet Explorer and always ensure that the Pop-up blocker (Under Tools) is turned off for this site.

Navigating Teamsite
Once logged in, there are two main sections to the TeamSite Page. These fall under the tabs on the left hand side and are called Tasks and Files. To view each simply click either tab.

The Tasks Tab
Shows tasks you need to carry out or files that need editing. Generally you will only use this tab if a page has been rejected by the Approver and returned to you for corrections, in which case you will automatically be notified by email.

The Files Tab
When first accessing the BEES workarea click:
  1. Files
  2. Browse
  3. All Workareas
  4. main_site

This will bring up the BEES directory

The BEES Workarea is divided into the Directories window and the Files window with navigation similar to Windows Explorer. There are only 2 directories you will be concerned with: the htdocs directory and the templatedata directory.

htdocs Directory
This directory holds all the html pages that are on the BEES website. These pages are created by the Content Management System which combines the Document Capture Record (DCR) with the presentation template and the stylesheets to create a html page.

templatedata Directory
This directory holds all the Document Capture Records. Every page begins its life as a DCR. This is the saved record of entering content into a template. Once a DCR has been submitted however, the end result is a HTML page which is stored in the htdocs directory. When you wish to update the information on the website, it is the DCRs in this directory you will be editing.

So there are in effect two identical directories, one under htdocs and one under templatedata. You will only be able to change pages that your staff number is authorised to. For instance, you won't have access to modify the BEES OHS directory or the BEES Home Page.

Top Right of the screen
Server: Displays the name of the server. The BEES Workarea server is 'swindle'.
User: Displays your user name on the system, eg s9904329
Refresh: Click to refresh your user interface after making changes and update the Teamsite icons displaying the status of a file.
Logout: To logout from the system.
Help: Online help

Note 1: closing the browser window will not automatically log you out of the Teamsite environment.
Note 2: when logging back in, the server 'remembers' where you logged out from and will open the directory you were previously working in.

Left hand Window
Browse: Enables you to browse Categories, Directories, Favorites and Recently accessed files.
File: Gives access to all necessary file functions (edit, details, unlock, move, copy etc)
View: Display files by view, such as all files modified by you
Submit: Used to submit files for approval
Directory Field: Displays the current open directory
Add to Favourites: To add files to 'Favorites' tick the checkbox next to your file and then click 'Add to Favorites'. When browse by favorites is selected, it will be presented there. This is a quick way of accessing your individual files.

File Window
The file window displays the files according to your selection from the view drop down menu. It is possible to display all modified files at once.

Note: If some of your expected files are not visible, select: View >> all files
