DAVID PERDRIAU RESPONSIBILITIES
Primarily, my appointed function is with the creation of multimedia online teaching material including WebCT and computer-based courseware for the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences. Graphic arts, video/sound processing and web design functions are integrated into my role, which sometimes takes me to quite remote areas for the photographs and sound I use to construct or embellish online learning material. Additionally, I assist in the support the myCMS system by providing training for new and existing users. Lastly, within an advisory capacity, I am a member of the BEES IT and myCMS committees and have partaken in the EDTeC Vista development process.
EXPERIENCE
Historically I have spent my career in information technology, so courses and certificates in electrical engineering, applications and computer programming, supervision, training small groups, experience in electronic repair to chip level, programming, networking, graphics and animation, multimedia, web design and computer-based learning have assisted me in the role I have undertaken here at BEES. In the past, my subject matter has been multidisciplinary, covering software development, engineering, electronics/computer retail and service, CBL in the financial sector, finally encompassing biology, geology and geography here at BEES.
INTERESTS
My search for new, informative, meaningful and interesting material to insert into multimedia presentations, web pages and online lessons has encouraged me to develop my interest in digital and traditional photographic techniques and sound recording of wildlife. It would be far easier for me to be more definitive about those I haven't explored yet, as my interests are quite diverse.
