DR RICHARD PIOLA
Richard is currently working as a senior research scientist for the Cawthron Institute in New Zealand, in the areas of marine Biosecurity and marine invasive species management.
He is involved in designing and conducting research studies examining the ecology and spread of marine pest species, the role of hull-fouling in marine species transfers, and the development of marine pest incursion response tools, as well as field surveys for the detection and delimitation of invasive species.
Richard also has a continued interest in the interaction between marine pollution and the establishment and spread of invasive species.
