1991-2005 - Self-employed research scientist in New Zealand: contracts with the Government's Foundation for Research, Science and Technology, describing and comparing the fossil faunas from Quaternary deposits throughout New Zealand, to determine biodiversity, palaeoecological patterns and responses to climate change over the Pleistocene-Holocene boundary.  
2008 - PhD (Palaeontology), Adelaide University, South Australia
2008-present - ARC Postdoctoral Fellow University of New South Wales
 
AWARDS
2008 - Elected Vice President Society Avian Palaeontology and Evolution.
2005 - Elected as a Corresponding Fellow of the American Ornithologists' Union for sustained research effort.
2005-2008 - Faculty of Sciences Divisional Scholarship & School of Earth and Environmental Sciences Supplementary Scholarship, University of Adelaide.
2004-present - Honorary Research Associate, Institute of Natural Resources, Massey University.
2003 - Awarded the D.L. Serventy Medal with R.N. Holdaway, by Birds Australia (Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union) for sustained research effort.
1989-present - Honorary Research Associate in: Vertebrate Fossil department, Museum of New Zealand.
