ACCESS AND AFTER HOURS AUTHORIZATION
Access to the Biological Sciences Building is permitted to staff and students via the front door between the hours of 7.30am and 10.00pm Monday to Friday, without restriction. Outside these hours only staff and students granted access (swipe card authorisation) by the Head of School (or delegated officer) are permitted to be in the building.
To minimize risks associated with working outside of normal working hours, all work undertaken within BEES, whether laboratory or clerical, must comply with the Working After Hours Procedure. This covers all staff including postgraduate and honours students. An After Hours Authorization Request and Approval Form must be submitted along with any relevant Risk Assessments and signed by the Head of School before any such authorization can be given.
Staff and students are responsible for taking all reasonably practical steps to ensure their own safety and security when working after hours.
Undergraduate students should consult the UNSW Guidelines for Working Alone or After Hours.
All Visitors are required to comply with the Visitors to UNSW Facilities Guidelines and are the responsibility of the individual/s being visited. If a visitor is required to enter any room or laboratory where an appropriate induction is required then it is the responsibility of the individual being visited to provide an appropriate certified induction briefing.
