The seminar will focus on efforts at regional and national levels to establish effective systems and capacities to trace and seize the proceeds of crime flowing from illicit resource extraction, in particular from illegal logging. The seminar will consider the role of regional inter-governmental bodies established to implement the internationally agreed standards to combat money laundering and opportunities for applying anti-money laundering capacities to support efforts of between government, NGOs, International Financial Institutions and market entities to improve regulatory supervision, compliance and enforcement in the financial and logging sectors.
