On Saturday 20th October 2007, the RTA and the Lands Department jointly organized a ceremony at Mount Victoria to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the opening of Mitchell's Victoria Pass.
The Surveyor General of NSW, Mr Warwick Watkins, presented Dr Peter Rickwood with a Certificate of Appreciation, the citation being 'To recognise the excellent work to locate and help preserve the remaining alignment marks in the Blue Mountains'. The work, carried out over a two year period, was completed in May of this year.
It was the only presentation made at the ceremony.
