Post Graduate Research Forum

Room 456, beginning Wednesday 14th June at 9.10am
If you are a full-time Post-Graduate student, then you are required to make a presentation either at the June or November PRF. Part-time students give presentations every second year. As usual there will be 3 types of seminars: Introductory (20 min + 10 min questions), Mid-Term Review (MTR, 30 min + 10 min questions) and Research Updates (15 min + 5 min questions). If you started Full-time study this session, then you will be expected to present your Introductory Seminar at the June PRF. If you started F/T study in Session 1, 2005, then your Mid-Term Review is also due at the June PRF.
Best Presentation Prize and ZPB Award for Conservation
The School will present an award for Best Presentation at the PostGraduate Research Forum (a value of $100).

In addition there will be an award donated by the Zoological Parks Board called the ZPB Award for Conservation. This award is for the best presentation by a postgraduate student with an emphasis on practical conservation. The award is $250.00 plus a certificate.

Students wishing to be considered for the ZPB Award for Conservation should contact Karen Firestone (kfirestone@unsw.edu.au) before 7th June. Any student whose research relates to conservation is encouraged to expand on the conservation aspects of their research topic during their talk. The winning talk could be an Introductory Seminar, Mid-term Report, or Research Update. (NB Seminars will still need to follow the standard format for an IS, MTR or RU.)
Reminder to all post-grad students and academics:
You are expected to attend most but not all talks. (We do understand that some talks will be so far outside your field that attendance may not be warranted.)
Undergraduate students and researchers from outside the School are welcome to attend.
