PostGraduate Research Forum The next Postgraduate Research Forum (PRF) will be held from the 9th to the 11th of November.
The Forum is intended to provide a conference-style atmosphere where students receive helpful and constructive feedback from colleagues in a non-adversarial atmosphere. If you are a full-time Post-Graduate student, then you are required to make a presentation either at the June or November PRF. Part-time students give presentations every second year.
BBQ
There will be a lunch-time BBQ (and presentation of PRF Speaker Prizes!!!) on Friday 11 November on the lawn outside the Biological Sciences Building.
BEES BEST SPEAKER PRIZE and ZPB AWARD FOR CONSERVATION
There will be two prizes, the BEES Best Speaker Prize worth $100, and the ZPB Award for Conservation worth $250, donated by the Zoological Parks Board. The latter award is for the best presentation by a postgraduate student with an emphasis on practical conservation. Students wishing to be considered for the ZPB Award should notify Ross McMurtrie and Karen Firestone before Monday 7th November. Any student whose research relates to conservation is encouraged to expand on the conservation aspects of their research topic during their talk. The winning talk could be an Introductory Seminar, or Mid-term Report, or Research Update. (NB Seminars will still need to follow the standard format for an IS, MTR or RU.)
All Post-Grad Students and Academics
You are expected to attend most but not all talks. (We do understand that some talks will be so far outside your field that attendance may not be warranted.)
Undergraduate students and researchers from outside the School are welcome to attend.
