How do I enrol into my courses?
All students are responsible for accepting their UNSW offer and enrolling themselves online via the myUNSW website (www.my.unsw.edu.au). At the beginning of each semester separate enrolment periods are assigned to commencing and re-enrolling students. This is when you can go online yourself, and enrol or vary your enrolment in courses. You will need your student number and unipin to gain access. At times, however, you may need the Science Student Centre to make enrolment changes for you. For these, you will be required to fill out a Variation of Enrolment Form (VOE) at the Science Student Centre (they are located at Room 128 of the Robert Webster Building). If you have further questions about enrolment procedures - don't hesitate to email beesinfo@unsw.edu.au.

Where can I obtain help with enrolment?
Staff will be present in the Library during January/ February for hands-on assistance with online enrolment. The UNSW Student Central information desk located in the Chancellery Building is also a useful location for enquiries. You can phone UNSW Student Central on 9385 3093 for general enrolment enquires and problems including: online blocks, activation and appointment periods (particularly for students returning from leave of absence). Again - the BEES Student Office can provide you with the most detailed advice for course selections if you are interested in pursuing careers within BEES taught disciplines.

Can I enrol in more than 27 credit per term?
Overloading of courses is permitted under special circumstances and requires permission from the Science Student Centre.

Can I enrol in a course without fulfilling the prerequisites?
This may be permitted in certain cases if you have entered the program with advanced standing or can show exceptional proficiency in the subject. You must have a signed letter of permission from the course authority and file a Variation of Enrolment form at the Science Student Centre.

How do I enrol in a course after the deadline?
You will only be allowed to do this under special circumstances. You need to consult with the Science Student Centre for advice on requirements and permission. Please note that permitted enrolment into a course after the HECS Census date may attract an administration late fee.

How do I enrol in a course that is already full?
Once a course is full, the myUNSW online enrolment system will prevent you from enrolling. However, you may be able to obtain permission to enrol even in these circumstances if approved by the course coordinator. You will need to obtain written and signed permission from the course coordinator and bring it to the Science Student Centre.

How do I choose my courses?
The elective and general education courses that you can choose will be somewhat determined by the requirements of your specific program. First of all you should check your undergraduate program. to see what elective and general education slots need to be filled and whether the courses that most interest you will satisfy timetabling and other constraints. Many programs include a list of recommended electives for their students. For BSc, BEnvSc, BSc(Adv) and other programs with a BEES course component - don't hesitate to contact the BEES Student Office on 9385 2961 or beesinfo@unsw.edu.au. We can provide you with advice as to what courses are available and even customise a detailed strategy for completing the degree program that you are most interested in.

How can I change the subjects I am enrolled in?
In these situations, it is always advisable to amend your enrolment sooner rather than later. You can change the subjects you are enrolled in yourself on myUNSW up until the end of the second week of session. After this date you will need to consult the BEES Student Office.

The notes and readings for the majority of BEES courses are available from the BEES Student Office.

Where can I pay for my course notes and field trips?
