TYPICAL HONOURS STRUCTURE AND COURSES

EFFECTIVE FOR STUDENTS COMMENCING IN S1 2009

With a broad and diverse group of courses, students and staff within the School of BEES there is a wide variety of ways in which Honours Programs can be structured. Hence there is no one 'typical' format of the Honours year. However the following examples illustrate some of the ways that Honours can be structured.

You need to complete 48 UOC for your Honours year. For many programs this is allocated as follows:

Subject UOC
Thesis   30
BEES 4511 Professional Skills   6
BEES 4521 Literature Review/Project Proposal   6
Any Upper Level Science Course (not including above)   6
Notes:
  • BEES 4511 and BEES 4521 are not compulsory for all programs.
  • BEES 4511 and BEES 4521 run in both S1 and S2 but some modules of BEES 4511 are offered in S1 only.
